Waddesdon Manor - At Christmas 2014

Happy 1st of December!!!! Christmas is fast approaching and I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am! I'm hoping today's post will be so full of Christmas it'll make everyone excited. The place me and my family visited on Saturday the 29th was Waddesdon Manor.

The year of 2014 Waddesdon Manor was dressed so that each room represented a different legend, reflecting different stories, rituals and myths from around the world AND as we walked through the gardens at night there was a trail to follow of lights designed by Bruce Munro. You can then go down a hill to visit the stables, and it was here we saw Huskies. One fact about me, I love Huskies, A LOT! Then finally there was a Christmas fair going around the side of the manor.

From here on is a sequence of different rooms showing stories, rituals and myths.

The piece above the table is always at Waddesdon, it is a hanging decoration made out of broken crockery!

Here we were walking through this bright white hall filled with fairy lights (which I tried to get a picture of, it didn't work!) and then this was happening on the ceiling.

Babushka.

Diwali.

The Mousehole Cat.

The Fir Tree.

Now we begin the light trail. These were stems of ever changing light that represented a poppy.

Next we had many washing lines with pegs. As you walked towards and through this you were greeted with the sounds of birds, and bright UV lights!

Finally we have this dome, this too had changing lights and is actually made out of bottles.

This really isn't the best photo but it was the least shaky. You can however see the beautiful Christmas trees standing outside.

I think it's safe to say I want to return again every year!!
