Good Hair Day

Good hair days...anyone else wish they happened more often?!

You treat your hair well and then it decides most of the time that it's going to be a giant frizz bomb or part on the side it shouldn't or it goes straight once you've curled it.

Well this was a hair day that did actually work out for me and I really liked the results so wanted to share this easy look with you!

First off I created the big bouncy curls by using the biggest attachment on my NuMe Lustrum set, to make this really simple just tie your hair up into a ponytail and then curl! Once all of the curls have cooled I like to them brush them out with a wide tooth come to make them more voluminous and sleeker.

I then grabbed a section from the crown of my head, that will become the section that you tie up. I knew that I wanted to be able to see the earrings I decided to wear so I kept adding more and more into the section, then tie it up with an elastic. After tying your hair up grab a stand from the underneath of the updo and tie it around the base to hide the hair band, then secure with a bobby pin.

To finish off the look I like to pull out some strands around the face to frame it better, and that's it! It's a great hairstyle to show off some beautiful earrings or to get the bulk of your hair away from your face.

Jerome Russell Bblonde Platinum Toner

If you have blonde hair, that is done at the hairdressers, you will understand how important it is to keep away the yellow brassy tones. SO when I was contacted to try out this Bblonde Platinum Toner I jumped at the chance.

Keeping away yellow tones really is important to me as I get my hair highlighted, although I am pretty lucky as my hair gets highlighted an icy colour and pretty much stays that way!

To get maximum results from this product it is recommended you wash your hair with a clarifying shampoo, don't condition and apply this product all over your hair for a maximum of 30 mins applying heat with your hairdryer and also having you hair under a hood, dry hair could take to the toner in 10-15 minutes! When trying out this product I was in the bath and therefore didn't try out the heat part because..well...water and electricity?! I don't think so!

I did them remove all of the toner and add a teeny bit of conditioner, just to give my hair a little tlc, don't know if you are meant to add conditioner afterwards but I wanted to. When I then straightened my hair I couldn't get over how incredibly soft it was, honestly it was/still is gorgeous, AND it had lifted the colour of my hair! My hair now really does look more "platinum", the icy highlights in my hair are even more icier and my own hair colour at my roots and that runs through my hair also looks lighter! It is amazing.

Overall, I seriously think I'm going to have to run out and stock up on this product because at £4.49 I genuinely love this stuff, and I can be very picky about hair things that isn't shampoo or conditioner, so trust me, this stuff works! It also can last up to 8 washes, has no ammonia and no peroxide, I wish this was permanent but alas it is unfortunately non-permanent and that, I would say is the only downside, but I'll see how long I feel it lasts!

P.s. Jerome Russell Bblonde Hair do recommend you do a strand test to ensure their is no irritation when using this!

3 Braided Hairstyles

Idiot El over here has already managed to show you one of these hairstyles in the bun blog post! The plaited bun (second look) was featured in my "4 Buns To Style Unruly Hair" post but hey I do love the style so never mind! 

So first up we have this very easy yet pretty dutch braid. Starting at a side parting and dutch braiding until you get to the ear, this creates a beautiful and simple look. I then continued to plait normally and grip using bobby pins.

This is the plaited bun I was talking about but I love it so much it doesn't matter! Having my hair in a side part again and then dutch braiding both sides of my head this time it creates a gorgeous amount of dimension and interest! Then gathering the 2 braids in a low messy bun.

This next one is something a little bit of fun that I attempted to re-create from Pinterest! I mean I definitely didn't fully succeed but I also didn't totally fail either. If you can dutch braid this is super easy but a little time consuming but the results are certainly different. Separating your hair around you head starting at the temple and tie the top section back. Then separate the bottom section that you have left down into 2 sections then dutch braid these until you get to your section line and then plait normally, tying with a clear elastic. Then let the top section of your hair down and separate this into 3 sections and dutch braid the 2 side sections like your others and again tie with a clear elastic. Then finally with the section on the very top of your head start dutch braiding straight from the hair line and braid until you get to the point of your head when it basically starts to go down the back (you should have ran out of hair to braid in at this point anyway) and continue braiding also adding in your 4 smaller dutch braids along the way. To make your braids thicker be sure to pull them out at the sides! Basically if you didn't understand that its pretty obvious from the pictures! (That's how I did it with the one on Pinterest!)

So there you go! Some pretty rubbish explaining by me and 3 braided hairstyles!

4 Buns To Style Unruly Hair

You know those days when your hair seriously isn't doing what you want it to do?! WELL I've got 4 different style of buns here to show you that will seriously help you out when your hair is misbehaving. 

This is going to be mainly a picture tutorial but if you would like to see a blog post on a specific style then I will be sure to do a separate post! P.s. I've just come up with my own names for them but I hope you enjoy and I hope your hair obeys these styles.

The Knotted Bun.

Requires only bobby pins.

(Basically section hair into 2 sections, knot sections together, twist the 2 sections around knotted area and bobby pin as you wish.)

The Twisted Bun.

Requires one hair band and some bobby pins.

(Basically twist both sides of your hair, tie with band, and put loose hair through gap above hair tie until there's barely any left and then bobby pin as you wish.)

The Regular Bun.

Requires a hair band and some bobby pins.

(Basically gather you hair into your hand, twist it around your finger, tie with hairband, and bobby pin as you wish.)

The Dutch Braid Bun.

Requires a hair band.

(Basically just part your hair as normal, dutch pair both sides then pull them out to create a thicker braid, then gather to the back and put in a bun.)
