10 Reasons You Should Do That Thing You're Putting Off

Now I personally know I am pretty good at procrastinating and putting things off!
I also know that I'm not the only one who does this, therefore here's 15 reasons why you should do that thing:

1. It may be something scary but the feeling after you've completed the "thing" really is amazing, like a weight has been lifted off your shoulders!

2. You can make a to-do list, write down your task and then once it's done you can cross it off. I always find that satisfying!

3.The task you need to do actually may not be that big or time consuming, it's just the more you put it off the bigger it actually feels.

4.If someone has asked you to do this for them, it really is nicer to get it done straight away.

5. You can't keep putting it off forever so may as well do that task now!

6. Putting one thing off can snowball and suddenly you have loads of tasks to get done and not enough time to do it, leading to stressful times ahead!

7. Starting something is better than putting it off completely, and once you start it you might get a flow going and finish it quicker than expected.

8. The thing you are putting off could lead your life in an awesome direction or better you as a person.

9. You can and should reward yourself after you have done the task if it was a little scary or daunting, and you have that to look forward to.

10. Nothing good comes out of putting jobs/tasks off.

I know that I really should stop putting things off so I'm going to come back to this list when I think of putting a task off!

How To: Get a "Back To Top" button on blogger

Every now and again I'll decide that I fancy changing something about my blog, this time I fancied adding a "Back To Top" button as I thought this would be very useful on my particular template.

Without any thought of how to install a button I created my own and then came to the difficult part of needing to install it. I created my button on PicMonkey which, after PhotoShop, is my favourite editing programme and super easy to use. This is the button I created:

(When creating my button I did make sure that it had a transparent background.)

After making, or choosing, your button you must make sure it has it's own URL to add to the HTML, so I just created a blog post with the picture in, published that post, right-clicked the image to open it in a new tab and then copied the link into the HTML (and then deleted the post).
That HTML is:

<!--Smooth Back to Top Button Start-->
<script>
jQuery(document).ready(function() {
var offset = 220;
var duration = 500;
jQuery(window).scroll(function() {
if (jQuery(this).scrollTop() > offset) {
jQuery('.back-to-top').fadeIn(duration);
} else {
jQuery('.back-to-top').fadeOut(duration);
}
});
jQuery('.back-to-top').click(function(event) {
event.preventDefault();
jQuery('html, body').animate({scrollTop: 0}, duration);
return false;
})
});
</script>
<style>
div#page {
max-width: 900px;
margin-left: auto;
margin-right: auto;
padding: 20px;
}
.back-to-top {
position: fixed;
bottom: 2em;
right: 0px;
text-decoration: none;
color: #7be7b6;
font-size: 12px;
padding: 1em;
display: none;
}
.back-to-top:hover {
text-decoration: none;
}
</style>
<a href="#" class="back-to-top"><img src="Insert URL" / /></a>
<!--Smooth Back to Top Button End-->

To add your own button you will want to delete the pink text and paste your own URL in it's place!
And that is it, I feel as though it sounded more complicated than it is, but if I can do it, you can do it, trust me!

Spring iPhone Wallpapers

I'm not the kind of person to change up their phone wallpapers often, but I will switch and change with the seasons and until I find my perfect one!

Now I know IPhone backgrounds are perhaps not the most important thing in the world but I do love to have a nice bright wallpaper anytime of the year and here are some of my current favourites. I find Pinterest and Google to be the best place to go!

I love iPhone wallpaper blog posts and this one is inspired by thesundaychapter.com

Upton House and Gardens

I've definitely been very into doing these "Places" blog posts at the moment haven't I!
As my family are members of the National Trust we are always re-visiting properties and discovering new ones, and Upton House is a location I hadn't been to for so long so my cousin, mum and me decided to visit it again.

St Mawes

Straight after visiting Trelissick, blogged about in my last post, we took a boat ferry to a lovely place called St Mawes. An extremely gorgeous location with some beautiful houses.

This little town opposite Falmouth has such clear water and the sun hitting the water was mesmerising and slightly blinding!!
