Christmas Day 2014: Hair and Makeup

Before we fully get into this blog post I just want to say I hope you all had an absolutely incredible Christmas and ate all you could!

I wanted to show the makeup I wore because even though it's not anything overly special I really like how it turned out. I won't be showing the products or steps as I'm thinking about doing a blog post in more detail about this look!

I wanted to add a bit of colour into my eyeshadow therefore I created this subtle purple eye look with false lashes teamed with nude lips. Then for my hair I kept it sleek and straight, I washed it then blow dried and straightened it which I found made my hair extremely soft and volumised! The false lashes I ended up choosing were the Primark "Natural" lashes, previously shown HERE.

After all that description I'm sure you'd like to see the look so here it is:

Fluffy Jumper - BooHoo (This particular jumper is no longer available)
Ho Ho Cushion - Asda

Again, I hope you all had an amazing Christmas! Also its only 3 days till 2015!

Bourton-on-the-Water - Christmas 2014

First of all I want to say I know a blog post was supposed to go up Monday but yesterday was the only day I could take these photos! So I decided to postpone this post.

There's a lot of pictures in today's post so I won't do too much writing, but yesterday, with my mum, best friend Jess and her mum, we all went to Bourton-on-the-Water. It's a tradition for me to go in December to see the lights but with Jess we only ever go in the Summer so from this year on that has to change! Bourton is the one place that makes me feel so Christmassy without fail, although the drive home belting out Michael Bublé Christmas probably helped. Bourton is beautiful, has a Christmas tree in the water every year and I hope that you find it as gorgeous as I do!
(There's also some amusing pictures of Jess in here.)

I hope you all have an incredible Christmas and I'll see you soon!!

Nail Routine + Nails of the Week

Nails of the Week is back!!! I'm so happy about this, and the fact I can start painting my nails AND be able to blog about nail polishes again! These posts have been missing because of the routine I have with my nails. In the last "Nails of the Week" post you will see my nails were very long and I'll explain how I can do this!

My nail routine is I grow them out, paint them etc until they get into a bad state of being stained from the polish and are splitting at the end. I know that sounds awful, BUT they can get to an extremely long length until this starts happening because what I do once they start splitting is cut them all the way down so they are very short, I then keep cutting them short for a month or so, until I am completely rid of any staining or splitting, once they are nice and healthy again I can begin painting and growing them again!

The colour I have picked for this week is a combination of W7's Nail Polish in 160 Ruby with Ciaté's Snow Globe and a random top coat.

My natural nails.

The nail varnishes.

My painted nails.

It may not look it in the photographs, but in real life this combination made my nail varnish look like gel nails! Also the glitter is so shiny, and actually the flakes are exactly the same as those I showed in my DIY Snow Globe post.

My Perfume Collection

I have seen a lot of bloggers doing their perfume collections recently and I thought why not join in, so here is my collection!

I want to start off by saying I wouldn't have any samples and no where near this amount of perfume if my cousin didn't work at The Perfume Shop, him working there certainly is fantastic! I'm not very good at describing scents but I shall try my hardest and also look up the smells online if I am really struggling.

Shelves: Ikea - Billy

These are all of my samples, I certainly haven't tried them all but thought I'd show them!

First perfume we have is the famous Daisy by Marc Jacobs and then on the right is Lady Gaga's Fame, very kindly given to me when my cousin won it at work! I will start by saying I love the Lady Gaga scent although it was a little scary spraying this black perfume but it actually turns invisible when sprayed (mind blown) this scent includes floral tones with honey, saffron and apricot nectar. Then we have Daisy and I am going to be so controversial and say I really am not a fan of this at all! Eventually I get a floral scent from this but mainly all I can smell is grass.

These are my 2 ultimate favourite perfumes ever! This is my second bottle of Viva La Juicy by Juicy Couture and I can't tell you how much I love it or how much I love Si by Georgio Armani. These are both sweet and fairly heavy scents. Viva la Juicy is a floral scent with a hint of wild berries and again Si is a floral scent however this time with scents of wood, amber and musky undertones, then finished off with a scent of vanilla.

Here is my first bottle of Viva la Juicy which I basically just keep because I LOVE the bottle, and then on the right is Couture by Juicy Couture which has only been taken out of the box, never been smelt/sprayed by me!

Next up we have Light Blue by D&G and English Velvet by Jack Wills, these 2 fragrances, I would say, are quite light, summery perfumes. Light Blue has an array of floral and fruity scents, whilst English Velvet again has a floral scent but this time with musk and amber.

These last ones include a Viva la Juicy gel perfume, My Love by Love Parfums and finally Ralph Lauren Number 2. Again I love these, Ralph Lauren Number 2 is quite a fruity scent being made up of a mixture of cranberry and tonka mousse. Then the final perfume of my collection is My Love by Love Parfums which I would say again is a sweet scent!

What's your favourite perfume?
