How To Make An Omelette ft. British Lion Eggs

Hi guys and welcome to this brand new recipe blog post!
Now this post is centred all around EGGS, British Lion Eggs to be exact.
When I was asked if I would like to feature British Lion Eggs in a blog post, of course I jumped at the opportunity because I just love cooking and baking. Personally when I think of a meal that is pretty much all egg, to feature them the most, a scramble or omelette comes to mind.

So in this post we will be learning together how to make an omelette using British Lion Eggs.

Ingredients:

  • Eggs (Obviously! Preferably British Lion Eggs...)
  • Any filling of your choice (I went for cheese and red onion)
  • Salt and Pepper

The Steps:

First:

Using 3 eggs crack them into a bowl, adding a tiny amount of water, your seasonings and filling, mix them all together until fully blended! You can either use a whisk for this or a fork.

Second:

Heat up your pan on high heat and use butter or oil to cover the bottom so your omelette doesn't stick.

Third:

Pour your mixture into your frying pan. And cook on the heat for 2 minutes or until the bottom is golden brown.

Fourth:

You can now either press down on the centre as the egg begins to set OR as the egg is setting push the sides of the omelette to the centre and tilt you pan, this will then have the runny egg fall to the sides, this will then cook. (Method shown in images below)

Fifth:

Etiher cook the omelette for 1 more minute OR, a trick my mum showed me, you can now place your omelette into the grill to easily cook the top of the omelette, cooking this for about a 1 minute or until golden brown. (I had actually saved some of my cheese to put onto the top of the omelette just before it went into the grill so that it would melt!)

Sixth:

Now tilt you pan and place your finished omelette onto you plate, or fold in the frying pan and then place on your plate.

And that is everything!
I feel like that felt like quite a lot of writing BUT omelettes are so quick and easy to make, are so delicious with basically any topping and make a great meal with a side salad!

(The egg smiley face was not intentional!)
